In blackjack if you split are both hands independant or are they linked. Like, if one of the split hands busts, does that bust the other?

Both hands are independent of each other. If you get another chance to split, you can split one more time and then you now have 3 independent hands. Of course, you'll have to put down 3 bets now instead of the 1 you originally had. You can even double down on those split hands...just as if you were playing three hands. I 'll suggest you to take help from online sites like http://www.onlinecasinogold.co.uk this is one of the many online guides. You can see more sites in google for help.

hope this helps
